God’s Strength is learned on God’s Terms

I preach a lot, on what God does on the inside of us. How he strengthens us. I have had a very off week physically, particularly today. Honestly, I have had some very serious physical pains & symptoms today.

But one of the things that’s very true about our relationship with Christ. Is that we can grow stronger spiritually, even when we experience weakness physically. Sunday, if I am physically able, I will preach on this powerful topic.

God’s strength is learned on God’s terms.

1- Growth with God does not depend on your own strength or ability but His!

Ephesians 3:16 that He would grant you: (A) according to the riches of His glory.
God’s riches are something far different than the material view & definition that human beings have of the world’s riches
They involve:
– essence of character
– holiness

2- God’s strength is not received in the way that we normally think of strength. It is not physical but spiritual.

Ephesians 3:16 ( B ) to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in:
Mankind’s idea of strengthening his to spend lots of time in the gym. To work on our conditioning to be able to physically demonstrate strength.
– God’s idea of strengthening is Spiritual. Galatians 3:3 As such, it may or may not be able to be detected physically. We can become much more powerful in Spirit, even at times that the body is weak.

3- There is a part of us that God means to strengthen that most do not even realize is there.
We are Spirit. We have a mind. We live in a body.

Ephesians 3:16 (C) the inner man-God will show you things in your spirit beyond the possibility of your mind to understand. God communicates with us in this part, most don’t know is there, much less recognize through:
deep knowings &
the “practice” of time &
groanings to deep for words. Ro. 8:26

Where is Evidence of this often undetected part of us?
One of the few instances where I am a real KJV guy says:
Luke 23:46
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, He said, Father, into Thy hands I commend my Spirit: and having said thus, He gave up the Ghost.

So remember even when you feel unable, God’s strength is transmitted through His ability not yours. God is building and strengthening a part of you, far different than your limited human self. God does intend to use this life to strengthen you, yet even when the body grows weak, the spirit can be strengthening.

Remember as you seek God for His strength that: God’s strength is learned on God’s terms.
