It cannot be overemphasized that Jesus is preferentially close to the lowly, humble and penitent. Even when we are on the right track, it is an earnestly desperate attitude, that knows that every good thing is only the result of the goodness, Mercy, Grace and love of God; that attracts Christ’s Unlimited, unmerited favor. This reverent, deeply grateful attitude and not prideful boasting holds the celestial keys to gain the rivers of cleansing and healing love, from The Almighty Father of truth, grace and Holiness. No matter how good and righteous one becomes. It is a Heart of Earnest contrition that will result in the deepest levels of communion and celebration, in relationship with Our wonderful Savior and Lord, Jesus. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
