I’ve been praying about the important difference in conviction and condemnation. Believers can miss the important role of The Holy Spirit convicting them, to ever deeper levels of commitment and spiritual communion, by assuming that every questioning feeling about ourselves is the work of the enemy.
The Holy Spirit ever woos us to more Christlikeness, which involves the sometimes painful process of revealing to us every attitude and attribute out of step with God’s will. He shines His Holy searchlight on us as we seek God and makes us aware, as we can handle it, of deeper levels of contrition, confession, repentance, finally resulting in a more Godly renewal; in these areas of our life.
So we do wrong to assume that every thought about our weakness is condemnation from the enemy. We are eager to say “Come Holy Spirit in Your healing power.” But are we equally eager to say “Come Holy Spirit in Your convicting power?” Which by the way must often precede the deeper work of healing.
Yes, we are victoriously set fee from condemnation.
Romans 8:1&2 “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”
We are forgiven and free, if we have trusted Christ’s atoning death and resurrection and received Him as our Savior. But this does not free us from conviction. On the contrary, as it becomes more important to us to be pleasing to Jesus, we will experience deeper and deeper levels of conviction in The Holy Spirit.
Do not receive condemnation from the Accuser. Because according to:
John 8:36 (KJV) “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” But do not resist The Holy Spirit’s work of conviction in your life. John 16:8. “And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment;”
It takes discernment and an open heart, and honestly seeking the will of God in your life to make sure you are not calling condemnation/ conviction and vice versus.
There is NO condemnation in Christ Jesus.
There IS Spirit lead, ❤rending & ❤mending conviction!!
