May 2023 FrostProof BIG Bass trip

My young karate champ, Justin Fields and I planned a combined karate – fishing trip. We drove from Thomasville, NC to Estill, SC.
The next morning, we drove to Jacksonville. We reunited with one of my first karate students of 30 years ago, Nolan Clark at a great Thai lunch in Jax, Fla. That night we went to Ocala and trained with my old sparring partner & co-founder of Car-Kai-Ryu = Glenn Kaizer. It was an awesome time of training.
Tuesday morning, We drove to our cottage in FrostProof. We enjoyed the pier, shore fishing, Lake Reedy, & the beautiful birds.
Wednesday was is the big day with the guide, Jim Childress. We headed out early (6:00 am). Sorry, the lake is top secret.
To say we had a great day of fishing would be an unserstatement. We caught over 30 bass, between 4 and 10 pounds. Justin caught an 8 pounder. And I caught a 9 & 10 pounder. [The largest largemouth I have ever caught in my life]. We had such great success that we continued and fished Thursday too!
The Lord showed up in many ways, through kind people & a tent revival that “just happened” to be where we went for a “to go” dinner, that wound up being where we stayed for a while. There were many “divine coincidences like that.” Some pics are attached of our wonderful expedition! 🙂 Slam-
