Subject: Personal venting on the subject of shallow communications. Aimed towards deepening relationships and improving our current dysfunctional American Society.

Listen more sincerely. Speak up. Spit it out. Communicate more. Make it a point deepen the understanding in your relationships. But do it sincerely with aim for deeper relationships.

Don’t get me wrong, I admire people who have tact, diplomacy and respect for other people’s opinions. I admire people who restrain and refrain from discussing certain subjects, to save their voice for the subject in which they have experience, knowledge and Authority. But I have never seen a day like today when there is so much moral cowardice, in communication.
(Rock-throwing is not communication. It is inflammation. Not communication.))

It is a common trait today that People won’t speak up, unless they’re in a group and counting on the group to be their backbone and voice of courage. I guess I really am getting old, because I don’t think that way. If I’ve got a problem with you, I’m going to come to you directly. And I’m not going to raise a posse before I come. No worries about wondering, if I have a problem with you. I’m not going to pussyfoot around and insite others against you, when I haven’t had the courage to come to you myself. I’m going to tell you eyeball to eyeball just exactly what I think. No worries. I’m coming. You can count on it. I’m not going to hide in my corner and keep you guessing. Or if I can’t do that, then I don’t believe it strong enough to give it place in my mind. In that case, I’m going to get down on my knees and ask God to forgive me & help me keep my mouth shut; because I don’t have any right to dwell on the thought, unless I know it’s true and come to you about it!
And in that case, I will ask God to help me change and have better thoughts. But If I really believe something, I’m not going to go around whispering it to others, unless I am willing to stand behind it & come first to you about it.

I remember my Father John W Carter Senior had a legitimate problem with a local minister, who for sake of the living relatives I will leave unnamed. And he thought he could do my father dirty and cheat him and hide behind the title of preacher. Bad move. That was the one time in my life, I had to stand between my daddy and another man; with fear and trembling, for concern that my father was going to come through me – to take the other man’s teeth out. And had I not been there, I’m pretty sure that’s what would have happened.

If you were good and right, daddy would fight for You , Against All Odds. ((I witnessed this more than one time. Daddy was the greatest champion of the underdog I’ve ever known . )) But if you were dirty and wrong and pointed it at him, Daddy was coming and you were his Target. I don’t care if it was politically correct or not. I learned a lot from dad’s moral fibre and intestinal fortitude (GUTS).

Don’t get me wrong. I have plenty of faults to work on myself, probably more than you, and more than most. Therefore, I will always come to you in the right Spirit, to correct things if possible and be willing to admit my own mistakes in the matter, because I could be wrong. But if I think there’s something wrong you’re doing against me. I’m coming. I’ve got that much John Woodard Carter Senior in me and that much self-respect. But I’ve seen over and over again recently (not referring to my courageous friends) but a growing multitude, who do not have the courage to own up to their own convictions, unless they are in a crowd of supporters. This grieves me.

I am blessed enough to have deep friends of nearly every background and Persuasion. I love my friends. And I will fight for you no matter what your backgrounds or beliefs, as long as you’re trying to do right and treat me, with the same respect. Because in America, there is supposed to be room for that. It’s called tolerance!! It’s called human decency!! It is color blind and unconcerned about cultural differences. 🇺🇸 America was never supposed to be about the government. America has always been about the people, at least in principle. We’ve always been willing to drop our differences and to come together and talk to each other and pray for each other and work for and with each other despite our differences. (( and in cases where Injustice has slipped us a mickey, we must be honest enough 2 see them and deal with them). If we would come through this mess that our countries in, we must as citizens relearn tolerance and courageously come together.

For many years, I have kept my mouth shut about political opinion. I don’t intend to change that!!! I have friends left… And I have friends right… And in today’s confused Society, I believe it is time for me to speak up and not based on a political side, but the side of personal honesty and conviction. I will do it 2 fold.
♤1)- I will fight for you if you are not treated fairly in this country, even if other groups hate me for it.
♡2)- I will not watch my constitutionally guaranteed civil liberties go away without putting up a fight for my country to which I have sworn allegiance. No matter how popular the group opinion that opposes me. In every instance where I have decided to speak up, these will be the two criteria that I seek to stand by. And keep my mouth shut about the others.

Recently, in the spirit of ♤1)- I have been going to quite a few men personally and individually that I love, to admit that I don’t know a lot of things and try to learn more from them as important friends. In fact, I have learned, I’m pretty uninformed about some things and I am seeing that I need to shut up and listen more to other men’s opinions. And I am doing this! And to be willing after I have learned more to fight for them, regardless of public opinion. And in the spirit of ♡2) I have been going to this same group of men to tell them, that we need to fight together for each other & for our country. No one who is a citizen here is the enemy! Unless they are fighting against the principles of citizenship, and want to overthrow the country for some type of communist government. Then every man of conscience who means his pledge to citizenship most oppose this treacherous effort. We must hope, even many of even these individuals may perhaps join the effort to save the country, through communication and cooperation.

If people indeed see that we care about them, and want what is best for them as much as ourselves, who knows what we can accomplish in the purpose of unity as mutually committed citizens. We need to remember that as American’s, we are supposed to be about honoring each of our fellow citizens. It’s not about me. It’s not about you. It’s about us being and becoming one. No form of government can be successful, if we don’t work together at common citizenship issues.

Oh well, I Guess I am, venting on paper. And you’re probably asking what difference can that one little guy make. Isn’t that funny that he is so out of the mainstream and trying to revive a dimming dream of mutual civility, in America?. What does he think he can do? I don’t know. Maybe nothing. But it won’t be because, I didn’t try.

So, In the spirit of what I believe America should be, in in the spirit of My Father John W Carter Senior.. this is the best way I know to try to make a difference. I may not succeed. It may cost me greatly. But I will have the peace of knowing I have tried fervently.

I guess that is the purpose of this writing and lot of my writings lately. It Does not matter if our viewpoints are different. If we are trying to communicate with each other and get America to come together. Then a new hope in Freedom, personal Liberty and mutual respect can be born. How can we be indivisible, if we can’t learn to talk to and communicate with each other?

Mankind will easily be replaced by artificial intelligence, ( if we make it that long and don’t self-destruct first) ; IF we cannot rise to a higher, and nobler call. Call it spiritual ascension. Call it combined and elevated vision. Or call it nothing at all. But see that it is ironic that in this time in which we are required to be socially distant: That the greatest call and possibility for mankind to not be destroyed and reach a higher level of good, is through deeper interpersonal Communications. The A.I. monster we have created will likely destroy us, unless we let it elevate us to the deeper Harmony of communicating and caring for each other and reach a higher level of human sentience.

Don’t let computer games designed to own you, monopolize your time have your personhood. ( Can’t you see that doing mindless tasks on the computer is just conditioning you to be the servant of a machine ???? Invest your time in communication with other people. Invest yourselves in deepening interpersonal relationships, even if there is a cost to you.
Have the self-respect, to communicate with others honestly and with concern. It is perhaps the greatest hope in America. In fact perhaps the greatest hope in the world!
