I am deeply thankful for a great gift that God is granting to me tomorrow. This is one of those Divine gifts that I have also worked very hard for. I guess the term is co-laboring with Christ.
Tomorrow is a very important day. Dawn Carter & I will be official in our role in the Wesleyan Church. I was first ordained 23 years ago by the Quakers. Their ordination is actually called a Recording. I did not think at that time I would ever need to be ordained again.
But when I returned to my roots and became a Wesleyan Minister a little over 2 years ago. It was plain that I needed to be.
They had three levels that I could come on board and pastor with… But to be a Senior Pastor, I had to be fully ordained. Which meant that I had to take some more college courses and do some additional training.
God was really good to me and I greatly benefited from this additional training. I hadn’t taken any college courses in a long time and boy did it recalibrate my brain. The last course on Holiness, I made a solid 100 in it. It was mostly essays and I was greatly challengeded and deepened in my faith.
I know God sent me here. And Dawn and I have both deepened our commitment, to the Lord through working at this wonderful Sawyersville Church . Tomorrow at the District conference; when General Supt. Wayne Schmidt and District Supt. Tim Jones lay hands on us, it will be to me a sacred event.
I remember 23 years ago when I was recorded that there was a deep sense in my heart that this was really a God thing. And I sense that even more now.
Praise His name for His goodness in calling me to His service. I pray that Dawn and I may serve Jesus well with all our hearts! I just wanted to share the joy!
