I have discovered through the writings of Justin Martyr and the Didache. It is absolutely verifiable that the early New Testament Church always practiced communion. No wonder it says, as often as you do this. And they literally did. They practiced worshiping around the broken body, the shed blood, and the resurrection of Our Lord every time they met. This was the essence & the centerpiece of Christian worship in the early New Testament Church!
And so on Wednesday nights at Sawyersville Wesleyan church, We Gather. We invite new people to communion. We teach communion with the Lord and of the Saints. And we go on to study the Bible and discipleship principles. Koinonia love is present and growing. It is a deep time of worship, Fellowship and joy in Jesus!
Acts 2:42:
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to the prayers.”

The numbers are increasing. Local people are celebrating this new kind of service. I guess it’s a pretty loose-leaf band of fellowship, and it doesn’t feel like church. But young and old people’s hearts are both drawn to Jesus and closer to each other! ⁷Pastor Timothy Grant Carter
