So 23 million people have had the flu this year in the United States and 16000 of them have died. These numbers are far greater than for the coronavirus, where we just reached a thousand deaths throughout the US. Why do we shut the country down for the coronavirus and not the flu? I know. I know. To flatten the curve of a new heretofore unknown virus. Still doesn’t add up to me. Just struggling to understand what has become the worst financial disaster that has ever happened to our country, in the course of my 61 years. I know that nearly every other country in the world aside from Sweden is doing the same kind of draconian lockdown. There has to be more than I see going on here. I have faith in God. I even have faith in our leaders. I just don’t understand the drastic restrictions that have crippled our economy. This is not a political comment. Just one little guy, in one little state, in one little County, in one little town, on one little street, in one little household trying to understand & survive. Do some of you my friends struggle to understand this also? Please be polite in your remarks. This time is hard enough without “We the people” not getting along. Maybe this whole thing is to get us to see that we really are one people under God. Oh well. Thanks for letting me vent. This is one of those things that I have to accept cuz I cannot change it and I pray about everyday in The Serenity Prayer. But hopefully I can still be a faithful servant to God and a good friend to many of you, through this crisis. So while I may not understand the crisis. I definitely understand that my little role is simple. Love God. Care about people. And do the next right thing. Thanks for letting me vent.
