Sometimes faith life seems 2 steps forward and one step back all the way. Everyone of us is human and prone to error. Yet if we love Jesus with all our heart. He can strengthen us to grow through our struggles.
One of the keys is to know we can not do it without Him. 2 Corinthians 12:10 “That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. “For when I am weak, then I am strong.” /
Understanding our own powerlessness to change & grow by ourselves can actually be a great strength .. When and If we ask God for help, we need to start from a position of contrition.
As a Christian counting on God’s power. It is our faith and submission to Jesus that gives us strength, not just personal competence. Psalms 6:2 says: “Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak;” … If & When I realize how utterly true it is that I cannot do it without Him, then I become Is a candidate for the Holy Spirit to do it through me, more excellently.
So the key is really giving ourselves away to Jesus and growing in The Spirit. Galatians 3:3 says “are you so Foolish having begun in the spirit are you now made perfect by the flesh?” So the way to having a better faith life is to truly grow in our experience and relationshipship with Christ.
They say one picture is worth a 1000 words. So I thought I would share on how to grow our faith life, By us thinking about an onion. And consider lessons from it, As an example of how to grow in the Spirit. That image is clear and will stay with you. So, with a light heart but important message. Let’s think together about Onion theology. And the soak through, layer peeling, and Digging in, and Staying in the dirt method, of deepening our life with Christ.
