Yes, God can be your Friend. Yes God loves you. Yes God wants to be one with you. Yes God wants to have fellowship with you. Yes God is benevolent and kind..

But this does not negate the need for the fear of God. Our relationship with God even though friendly is not buddy, buddy. It is forever a me, to Thee, relationship. It is a mere mortal man, somehow made in the likeness of God by His Wonderful Grace; that is granted the opportunity to relate to This Infinite and Holy God. While I can approach his throne of grace and mercy in a time of need boldly, because of the blood of Jesus. I can never approach that Holy Throne, flippantly or irreverently.

I guess what I’m saying is that our relationship with God can never be casual. I’m not saying that you have to be up uptight or tense with your Maker. You can relax in His presence and in the assurance that His benevolent and caring love is unwavering. But it will never be that God is Not So High Above everything that we can imagine, that we can relate to Him just as we would a person, on human terms alone.

While our relationship with God is personal. It is also one of humble devotion and service. A creation relating to Creator, relationship.

I have had experiences with God, where He allowed me to see a little of His power and might. That is truly why I fear no evil. If you ever get a vision of how great and awesome our Holy God is. You will have no fear of evil.

Unto thee O Lord do I lift up my soul. Unto Thee O Lord do I offer my reverent worship. Thank you that you have made Yourself a Friend through Christ. But a Divine friend nonetheless.. You are the object of My Worship, praise, adoration, and wholehearted service! I know that the fear of the Lord is clean! And I quake at Thy glorious sight!
