Our will for us is not always God’s will for us. That is why Jesus admonishes us to Seek & we will find, in Matthew. And we never find His will for us, UNTIL- we have clearly have Christ at our center and are truly wanting to want what God wants. Getting this aim straight will make your calling clear, whether God leaves you doing the same thing, or calls you to do something completely different. Because once Christ is clearly center and communication clarity is definite, sure & transparent, then your spiritual connection will be super strong. And then You will know that you are doing what you do for Him!! It is hard to miss His calling, when you are this sold out to Jesus.
That is why I practice the somewhat unusual approach, instead of helping others look for their calling. I look and make absolutely sure, that the person has an unobstructed and pure Communication with Jesus. Knowing our calling will come from this plain view. If Christ is atop our to-do list, then we can be sure that we are atop His. In fact, That is one of the primary messages that Jesus communicated by going to the cross for us.
I think it important that we realize that as we seek to know that we are doing the will of God. He also seeks for us to know, when we are doing His will. God will not play hide-and-seek with us here. It is true that it is hard to find. But only because it is so important. It is A treasure that must be sought and cannot be found without without seeking. That is really what the truth of the scripture means when it says “many are called but few are chosen.” in: Mt. 22:14
If we have finding His calling and will, atop our to-do list. We must realize that it is top on God’s to-do list, is for us to find His will. Remember when Jesus left the 99 and went after the one that was astray. Jesus has concern for the one!
It concerns me deeply, when I hear, the concern that we are “letting God down.” Most frequently when we are truly trying to please Him, this is impossible. Because God sees us through the eyes of grace, And lifts us with arms of mercy. I do not suspect that We can let God down. When we realize He lifted us up with Him on that cross.. In fact, I suspect that this is the enemy trying to keep us ineffective.
We need to be looking for instances when this thought or feeling of letting God down comes to us. We need to make it a light flashing , bell ringing moment. That we are being sold a false bill of goods by the enemy. We need not to let this thought happen without realizing that this thought is coming to us, from the enemy of our souls.
We do not need to be what others expect us to be. Our main concern should be to want what God wants. Because when we want His will for us. It is wonderful that we want to be, is what God expects us to be.. We can know certainly God is pleased with this attitude of heart. I believe that this is the very heart that God speaks of, when he calls David a man after God’s own heart. David made his share (+ plus some) of mistakes but came to be the kind of man that truly wanted, what God wanted for His life.
When wanting what God wants becomes our major concern, then we can be sure that God is pleased with us.. He bought that assurance for us on the cross.
So when the thought comes to us that we are failing God. And we begin to suspect that these moments are condemnation that God does not want for us. As we can see in Romans 8:1.
We should be asking ourselves in these new realized moments. God what do us want me to think instead?.. Let the lights flash & bells ring and sense that this thought is out of whack. Begin to ask yourself what is the replacement thought?
God will show it to ud and we will begin to sense thoughts of His assurance instead of the thoughts of this false attack.
When we stand up for ourself and others become angry. That does not mean that God feels that way about us.. Sometimes standing alone on our own convictions is exactly what God wants for us. Remember the wise counsel, when we used to board planes to put our own mask on 1st. For we cannot well take care of others, until we first take care of our own security..
Others will not see that we’re doing His will, until we are doing it and know that for sure. Then, others will suspect it from our confidence and change in outlook. And even if they never see it, it does not matter. As long as we know it. Our own heart will be strengthened and encouraged by Our knowledge that we are obeying the Creator’s calling and fulfilling it in our own life! Therefore- we should Put our own mask on and then, we will see to protect and guide others.
Put finding God’s will for us as a first priority, instead of not pleasing others.. Oddly enough, when we do, more often than not – in time – the others will come around and see that we are doing the right thing.
So put God’s will atop your to-do list. You may be sure that when you do, you are already atop His!
