Favorite (Most Impactful) Books

In 2014, Heather McKim Gauthier challenged me to name 10 books that have had a definite impact on my life. This took a little reflection. Aside from the Bible, I had picked the 10 most influential books on my life. And then in addutional conversations, I realized that I had to expand the list. There was no way that I could hold it to just 10 books that had real impact on my life. So I expanded it to 14. Many more books influenced me but I felt at that time that these were the top ones.

1 – The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane
2 – The call of the Wild by Jack London.
3 – Will Rogers by Ben Yagoda
4 – No little people; No little places by the late Dr. Francis Schaeffer .
5 – Get the best from yourself by Nido Quebein.
6. – The text of Alcoholics Anonymous.
7 – Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain .
8 – I heard the owl call my name. Margaret Craven
9 – Habitation of dragons by Keith Miller
10 – The People called Quakers by the late Dr. D. Elton Trueblood
11 – Life’s Golden Ticket – Brendon Burchard
12 – The 5 People you meet in Heaven – Mitch Albom
13 – A History of Christianity – Paul Johnson
14 – Around the Year with Emmet Fox..

Considering the 9 years since I made this list. At least 4 more would have to be on the list.

15. The Shack – William P. Young
16. Everything I needed to know I learned in kindergarten & 17. It was on fire when I lay down on it. – Robert Fulghum
18. A Shepherd looks at Psalm 24 – Phillip Keller

I have definitely decided that my favorite variety of book to read is Inspirational fiction, Followed closely by True Biographies of Inspirational people.

If you haven’t done this, it can prove rewarding. Why not take a few moments to  Reviewed the books that have made the most significant difference in your life. It is an interesting and rewarding pursuit.
