NOT SO SECRET FORMULA TO SUCCESS – 2

Dear Guts is the key reader. Sometimes I revisit topics, I have written on in the past, because they are worthy of review and emphasis. This is one of those topics. In your personal and professional life; a regular tune-up on the importance of this subject will do you good!

DETERMINATION.
———————————————-

In the movie Rocky III, the eye of the tiger was the theme song. It was more than that, it was the essence of what it took for a champion’s heart to prevail in a winning performance. And so it is today. The theme song of tenacity, dedication and determination is always humming in the background; when we are reaching for higher thresh-holds of achievement.

Eye of the Tiger - Rise to the challenge of our rivals.

Yes, I love meaningful word games; so I came up with this one. But this is an acrostic that is NO game. It is the stuff of life. It is the stuff of winning. It is the stuff of service. It is the stuff of excellence. Few ever win that are not determined enough to pay an uncommon price and face and overcome challenging obstacles.

Recently, a remarkable lady, Ha Tran and I have teamed up our efforts, to motivate each other to higher levels of achievement and performance. What a gifted person! And while her talents are many. The greatest attribute she possesses is unstoppable determination. The story of her life is a continuous saga of triumphing over adversity. Her entire experience is one continuous anthem, of dedication to winning against terrific odds. If you have not already, you should visit Ha Tran Speaks  for a stunning example, of how a human being can achieve excellence, in spite of trial.

Daily

Daily, Any performance is improved with consistency. The noblest efforts are vain when they are only every once in a while. It is the regular practice of specific improving efforts that lead to success.

>>>>><<<<<

Energetic
Half hearted efforts lead to half-hearted results. This seems over simplified. But sometimes the answer really is to turn up the heat. Are you giving your work your best effort or are you holding back?
>>>>><<<<<
Tenacious
“Not easily dispelled or discouraged; persisting in a course of action.” I have been called a bulldog more than one time in my life. A bulldog bites and doesn’t let go. Have you tried a bulldog bite with your work or self-improvement?
Empowerment
Are you feeding yourself enough enriching material to accomplish the thing you want to achieve?  To achieve you must harmonize and synergize preparations and efforts.  Are you giving yourself a chance to win by empowering your efforts?
>>>>><<<<<

Ready Mind / Relentless
I have been in karate for many years. When the instruction is to begin, you have to be ready and explode in performance. Most fear to face me, because they know I can be fierce in the ring.
Do you sort of ho – hum & move around casually, when the whistle blows or do you explode into activity.  Some times you can win, just because you don’t give up. The other guy quits and you win by default. This happens every day in business and in other areas of life. Are you ready? Do your opponents fear your relentless efforts?
>>>>><<<<<
Motivated
This is an overworked word, without digging beneath its surface. What is it that motivates you? Unless you have a good why; you probably are not going to achieve the what you desire.
>>>>><<<<<
Inner Fortitude
GUTS baby. Keep reading day after day. We will come back to this.
>>>>><<<<<
Necessary
Is it an option for you to lose or is it Necessary that you win.  Is  it ok if you give it a little effort or are you determined to give this life all you’ve got. You probably wont win till you stake your life on it. Make it necessary.
>>>>><<<<<
Action
Action. Action. Action. Action. What can I do? What will I do? What am I doing?
>>>>><<<<<
Trainable
Yes ma’am, we big shots have big heads. What we need is big hearts with humble attitudes so we can learn from others.
>>>>><<<<<
Inspired / Imaginative
Need a dream. Get in touch with the dream weaver. God will give them to you if you believe . You must Seek to find. Try something different often.
>>>>><<<<<
On Task
We all know about the tortoise and the rabbit. Steady plodding along will win most times over the guy who is way up and then way down. Ouch.  Maybe you need this reminder, like I do???
>>>>><<<<<
New / Now!
Some time ago, I talked a lot with a 98-year-old man; who was spry, lively and a hoot! He reminded me that every day can be the 1st day of the rest of my life, if I am determined to live that way.  Come on guys; lets put a full court press on the prospect of achieving in our workplace, in our performance, in our life. Try something new every day and do it now!
>>>>><<<<<

In the karate ring, in the athletic contest, in the sales endeavor, in the building of a career; it everything worthy of your efforts.

DETERMINATION. THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR IT!!!!
