     What is the most powerful number in sales? It must always be ONE. One can never be overlooked, if you would be successful in sales. You must be able to focus on one customer, one feature, one presentation & one closing. Thinking about the next, before you make the first can be fatal. The old saying is ” Don’t count your chickens, before they hatch” and this is true in many ways but especially true in sales. We must focus on one, to make more.

     I have trained many sales pro’s who are always thinking about the next one. I teach them the saying “Dance with the one you are with.” Focus is power. Of course the next one is important but not if thinking about it prevents you from making the sale you are working on right now.

     Think about these important ONE’s.

  • Make one more cold call every day. One extra call a day equals 200+ extra calls in a year. How many meetings could be set up with these extra calls? And how many of those meetings could turn into additional sales? How will this effort of making one extra call impact your business? Make one more cold call every day.

  • Make one additional suggestion to each customer. What would it do to your sales if each customer increased their purchase by one item or one upgrade. How many customers do you have? If each one of them bought just a little more, what would it do to your business?  Suggest one extra item or service to every customer.

  • What is the only satisfactory goal for a positive, growing sales pro? Yep, you guessed it. To be #1
