Vision boards can empower sales! Slam’s Sales Tips 1400-1500

     A couple of years ago, I was impressed by my friend Steve Gutzler http://www.stevegutzler.com/  that a Vision board could be a powerful motivation, direction and planning tool.

     I had seen this concept used else-where but had previously dismissed it as hoopla.  But after Steve advocated using one; I decided to give it a go. I have found it to be a powerful way to synthesize many targets and projects into one vision. And that is one of the most difficult things often about targeting our future plans. Seeing all of our objectives in the same context and field of reference; with relevant visual symbols is a powerful way to focus and arrange your personal objectives.

     I use really simple techniques in utilizing my board.

  • I use color coded push pins to emphasize and add certain levels of meaning.
  • I use push pins, so topics can be easily moved or removed or added.
  • I try to use symbols & images that have personal power and significance.
  • I put the board where I have to see it on a daily basis, so that it is natural to review.
  • I upgrade and change it, so that it is relevant to my current sense of focus.

     Vision Boards can be inspirational in nature.

And a vision board can certainly be sales related and empowering.

     I do not think there is a magic template to constructing a vision board. But there certainly is magic in getting theories out of your head and putting your notions into motion.
